چکیده

Abstract The plant Stryphnodendron adstringens is a species of legume in the genus that found Brazil. It also known as “barbatimão-verdadeiro” and it popularly used folk medicine due to its healing properties. Purpose: aim this study was evaluate activity hydrogel, together with an S. hydroalcoholic extract, diabetic non-diabetic rats. Methods: phytochemical analysis extract evaluated through HPLC antioxidant measured by DPPH assay. cytotoxicity, scratch assay, fibroblast cell proliferation were evaluated. Forty (40) Wistar rats submitted excision for full-thickness wound 1.5 cm × their dorsum. animals treated twice day over 16 days, rich layer corresponding treatment: Hydrogel; Hydrogel associated 5% (H + SAHE); (SAHE); Collagenase Chloramphenicol; or Carbopol. Morphological histological analyses injury performed. Results: SAHE indicated presence phenolic compounds, tannins, flavonoids. showed strong activities (IC 50 = 25.56 ± 1.04 μg/mL). H induced (148 6.9%) not cytotoxic. association more pronounced than did other treatments animals, hence, promoting angiogenesis reepithelialization. Conclusion: Under these scenarios, has demonstrated effectiveness recovering wounds Graphical abstract
